‘Changing the world’ one hit song at a time

Gordon Kennedy has music in his DNA. His parents were already professional musicians when they moved to Nashville when Gordon was young. Needless to say, Gordon spent lots of time in studio sessions that his father, Jerry, would play – for Elvis Presley, Kris Kristofferson, Ringo Starr, and Jeannie C. Riley – Gordon was right there, as he absorbed every aspect of the music business early in his life. He joined the band White Heart with his longtime high school friends Dann and David Huff. And that was the beginning of a career that has opened doors for Kennedy as a guitarist, session player, composer and producer in the Nashville scene, where his guitar mastery is renown. He’s a member of the prog-CCM-rock band Dogs of Peace, which is made up of a few of the best sessionistas in the Nashville area. Apart from his touring and studio work with Garth Brooks , Ricky Skaggs and Peter Frampton, Kennedy is best known for co-penning the hit Change The World, popularized by Eric Clapton. And that is exactly what Gordon is up to these days…Changing the World one hit at a time. Inside MusiCast is pleased to welcome Gordon Kennedy.
