Bill Champlin
Taking The Off Ramp To Success
Bill Champlin is a man who has experienced musical success on his own terms. Over the years you’ve known him as a solo artist, session musician, vocalist, and longtime member of the band Chicago. From the very start of his career, you’ll find interesting detours that have taken him to places where other musicians only wish they could experience. From the early psychedelic era of The Sons of Champlin in San Francisco, to laying down smooth vocal tracks with David Foster, to his contributions in Chicago, Bill found his way to his own music by listening, learning, and absorbing from the very best. The fact is, if you step back to see the breadth of his talent, at the core you’ll find a man who has been gifted with one of the most soulful voices that has helped define what R&B is today. That's why we're eagerly awaiting his new album which will be released later this year. Inside MusiCast is pleased to welcome Bill Champlin.
Brian,
I don't think I've ever laughed so much in an interview. They say that laughing is really bad etiquette when it comes down to interviews....we broke that rule....and just enjoyed it wholehearted.
So much great conversation...we learned so much from his guy.
Glad you liked it.

Hi. Just wanted to say thanks for your great interview with Bill. One knows that he's a great musician but he seems to be a very cool guy too! I often listen to your interviews and they're always interesting. If it's possible in the future I would love to hear interviews with people like Jay Graydon, Bill Cantos or one of my favourites Michael Ruff. Have a great weekend! /Peo from Sweden
Fantastic interview... Bill has such a rich history in so many facets and timelines in music.. One interview doesn't seem like enough time!
You guys sure left me wanting more... again.
Thanks Rick & Eddy.
I was on the floor laughing listening to this interview. Thank you for this wonderful interview~
I was lucky enough to see Bill perform with Santa Fe & TFCH last year and Bill is a legend and still kicking some serious butt!
You could feel the love watching him perform with his peers, they have such respect for him.
Thanks again!
Thanks for the positive comments! Eddy and I had a blast chatting with Bill. It was truly one of my favorite interviews. Eddy and I had a few dozen questions mapped out for the interview, but after a few minutes of chatting with him, we completely got off script and just let it flow. It was great!
Thanks again for listening. More to come!
Rick
That was just like the Champlin tunes, Naturally Cool. You guys shared that vibe in
a great interview...loved it!
Fat3
Hey you Guys,
Fat3 is right:
That was 100% Champlin Style and, thank the Lord, the Vibe is on the Tape!
I had such a fun Time listing to the Interview. One of the best Talks (and it´s really hard to judge, because I love them all...).
The Interview caused me to listen the complete last Week to his Live-CD "Mayday" which is very impressing. Bill seem´s to be unstoppable in his Power and deep Soul.
By the Way: The wonderful Jerry Lopez (Leader of Santa Fé & FCH´s)is playing a cool Part on Guitar & Vocals on this CD...
One Guest on my Wishlist for an upcoming Interview *smile*
Keep on groovin´...
I love what you´re doing...!
Thanks for this Site Eddie & Rick!
