Musical Intensity on Overdrive
Steve Lukather is still under construction as a musician. Although he has chosen three distinct roads to follow during his career (as a solo performer, as a member of the Grammy Award winning band TOTO, and also as a top session player) he still is not intimidated by the process of collaborating with other musicians and writers to create fresh music. This is evident as he prepares to put the final touches on his latest solo album which is yet untitled. After a year of solid touring with TOTO, he was still able to write the solo album with fellow collaborator Randy Goodrum in only two weeks. With very little time to write, record, and produce finished tracks, Steve admits that working under pressure helps him work better and ultimately deliver a better record. In the midst of working on his solo album, he's preparing to embark on a second phase of touring, which also includes a European leg with Toto. An intense schedule? Yeah. Madness? Maybe. But then again, you have to know Luke. He’s a pretty intense guy that needs to keep things moving along. Inside MusiCast shifts into overdrive and invites you into the world of Steve Lukather.

Luke is great and he was soooo PG!! I haven't heard Luke that verbally "restrained" lol.
Keep it up and How about a piece on the Toto Network itself?? there's at least an hour show there on the site, the music and people that are on it now.
Would also luv to hear a Mecca 2 piece with Bobby, Hungate, JV, and the guys...

As a musician and a dedicated music collector, I deeply appreciate that fact that you search out the headliners, as well as the musicians & producers behind the artists for your podcasts.
I actually find the stories that come from the "hired guns"-- the backing musicians -- to be as interesting if not more than those of the headliners because of the variety of people they've gotten to gig with over their years in the business. Your interviews with artists like Lee Sklar, Freddie Washington & Chris Rodriguez show that. Can't wait to hear your podcast with Michael Omartian.

Thanks so much for yet another great interview. Specially this one with Steve, he's got just so much to tell being that busy and all. Love Luke and wish there were many more interviews with him.
Love hearing stories related to Toto and everything that's got to do with Luke. He's just amazing.
