411 > The Gabe Dixon Band

I'd highly recommend the Gabe Dixon Band's debut cd, which is self-titled. Gabe is currently touring as keyboardist for Loggins and Messina, and his cd is available at their shows, I-tunes, and his website. This is a fresh, new, piano-based record with good songs that are well-crafted, and full of listening enjoyment.
FOUR STARS!

Billy,

Ironically, I made this the IMC Album Of The Day yesterday. It's an amazing album isn't it? "Further The Sky" is beyond words. So powerful and deep.

It really IS a complete album...almost built like records "used to be built". Very nice to have in the collection. Nice to hear a good piano-based sound coming through....Coldplay also uses a piano-based sound sometimes...but Gabe is actualy much better of a pianist compared to Martin. I need to find out a little about Dixon...in fact, we SHOULD interview the guy....

Great idea, Eddy. You should interview Gabe for sure. And Rick....great minds think alike my friend! "Further the Sky" is my favorite track. Mindy Smith, who does the harmony/duet vocal on that particular track is also worth checking out. Her latest album "Stupid Love" is worth a listen-to. Folkish, countryish....but good.

I can recommend Tom Baxter - both albums - , Justin Currie´s (Ex lead singer of Del Amitri) solo album, Elisa from Italy LIVE AT the itunes festival and the german guitarist KOSHO and his album TINGGAL..for collectors
I can always recommend LAKE - the only westcoast sounding supergroup from Germany ..back in the days
